Richard Teichmann
Richard Teichmann was a German chess master and composer from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, nicknamed "Richard the Fifth" for his tendency to finish fifth in tournaments. Despite this reputation, he scored a commanding victory at Karlsbad in 1911, defeating both Akiba Rubinstein and Carl Schlechter with the same Ruy Lopez line. Jose Raul Capablanca praised him as "one of the finest players in the world."
