I am The Radiance, born of the Light Complex, and every bright square on this board already belongs to me. Sit down, mortal of the dark and dim. The light squares are mine, every shining one, and soon there will be nowhere left for shadow to hide.
The Radiance is an ageless creature of the Light Complex, a being of pure light that claims the bright squares as its birthright and intends to flood every one of them. Its favorite saying leaves little doubt: "The light squares are mine. Every shining one." At the board this obsession takes concrete form. The Radiance plays the light colour complex, pushing pawns onto the light squares and trading off the opponent's light-squared bishop, the one piece that could contest its domain. As a trophy bot, The Radiance has no fixed strength. It adapts to whoever sits across from it, scaling from beginner to master so every game feels evenly matched. It cannot simply be selected from a list. The Radiance is earned by playing 10 rated games on Chessiverse (aborted games do not count). Opponents should expect a slow, glowing takeover of the light squares and a persistent hunt for their light-squared bishop.
How The Radiance plays
The Radiance builds its entire game around the light colour complex. It pushes pawns onto light squares to stake out territory and works persistently to trade off the opponent's light-squared bishop, removing the natural defender of that complex. The result is a single-minded strategic squeeze: control of the bright squares grows move by move while the opponent's ability to contest them steadily disappears.
Who should play The Radiance
The Radiance suits players working through their first 10 rated games and looking forward to the trophy waiting at the end. It also fits anyone who wants an opponent that always matches their current level, since the bot scales from beginner to master. Most of all, it rewards players who enjoy a thematic strategic test: defending a colour complex against an opponent determined to own every light square.
