Jesús Nogueiras Santiago is a Cuban Grandmaster who reached the highest levels of competitive chess in the 1980s. He qualified as a World Championship Candidate in 1985 after finishing second at the Taxco Interzonal, though he placed 15th out of 16 in the subsequent Candidates Tournament. With a peak Elo of 2580, he remains one of Cuba's most accomplished players.
