People's Republic of ChinaWei Yi is a Chinese Grandmaster who became the youngest player in history to reach a 2700 rating at just 15 years old. A three-time Chinese champion, 2018 Asian champion, and 2022 Asian Games rapid gold medalist, he also captured the prestigious Tata Steel Masters in 2024. His Grandmaster title, achieved at 13 years and 8 months, made him the 11th youngest in history.
