Georgy Timoshenko is a Ukrainian Grandmaster who earned his IM title in 1989 and GM title in 1994. He won the Moscow City Chess Championship in 1988 and the Paul Keres Memorial Tournament in 2007, establishing himself as a formidable competitor in both Soviet-era and post-independence chess.
