Leonard Barden
Leonard Barden is an English chess master, writer, and broadcaster who learned the game at age eleven during a World War II air raid. He represented England in four Chess Olympiads and played a pivotal role in the rise of English chess from the 1970s onward. His Evening Standard column holds the distinction of being the world's longest-running daily chess column by a single author.
