GM Artyom Timofeev
Russian Grandmaster Artyom Timofeev, born in Kazan, earned the title from FIDE in 2003. He came close to winning the Under 14 section of the 1999 World Youth Championships, finishing second on tiebreak, and then won the Under 18 European Youth Championship the following year. The Grunfeld Defence is a central part of his repertoire.
