GM Leonid Stein
Leonid Stein was a Soviet Grandmaster who won the USSR Chess Championship three times during the 1960s, firmly placing himself among the world's top ten players of that era. His tactical brilliance was especially evident in the King's Indian Defence systems he championed, and his early death at age 38 cut short a career of immense promise.
