GM Milko Bobotsov
Milko Bobotsov was a pioneering figure in Bulgarian chess, becoming the country's first Grandmaster in 1961. After winning the Bulgarian national championship in 1958, he achieved notable international success, including a shared second place at the prestigious 1967 Alekhine Memorial in Moscow. He also secured first or shared first-place finishes at tournaments in Varna (1957), Pecs (1964), and Sarajevo (1971).
