Judit Polgár is a Hungarian Grandmaster widely recognized as the strongest female chess player in history. She stands alone as the only woman to crack the world's top ten, surpass a 2700 rating, and compete in the final stage of a World Chess Championship. From January 1989 until her retirement from competitive chess in 2014, she held the top spot among women players worldwide.
