Mikhail Chigorin
Mikhail Chigorin was a Russian chess player of the late nineteenth century who challenged Wilhelm Steinitz for the World Championship twice. The last great exponent of the Romantic chess style, he defied positional orthodoxy with explosive counterattacking play, favoring gambits like the King's Gambit and Evans Gambit. His creative approach deeply inspired the Soviet chess school that would dominate the twentieth century.

The Counterattacking Lion
Defies principles, invites attack, then counterstrikes explosively
Players with this personality invite their opponents to attack and then strike back with devastating counterblows. They are comfortable defending slightly worse positions knowing that their counterattacking skills will create winning chances. Their games often swing dramatically as they absorb pressure before launching their own offensive.
