GM Jacques Mieses
Jacques Mieses was a German-born chess master who became one of the inaugural International Grandmasters when FIDE first awarded the title in 1950. Of Jewish heritage, he fled Nazi Germany in 1938 and subsequently became a British citizen. His playing style embraced open, attacking chess through systems like the Vienna Game and Center Game.
