GM Ivan Sokolov
Born in Bosnia, Ivan Sokolov is a Grandmaster and chess author who became a leading figure in Dutch chess. He earned the GM title in 1987, won the Yugoslav Championship in 1988, and captured the Dutch Championship in both 1995 and 1998. His peak rating of 2578 and versatile opening repertoire made him a formidable competitor throughout the 1990s.
