GM Efim Geller
Efim Geller was a towering figure in Soviet chess, winning the Soviet Championship twice and qualifying as a World Championship candidate on six occasions. He also claimed four Ukrainian SSR titles and won the World Seniors' Championship in 1992. His expertise spanned the Queen's Gambit Declined, Sicilian Scheveningen, and King's Indian Defence, making him one of the most versatile players of his era.
