GM Wolfgang Unzicker
Wolfgang Unzicker was one of Germany's strongest Grandmasters from the postwar era through 1970, yet he chose law as his profession rather than making chess his career. World Champion Anatoly Karpov famously dubbed him the "world champion of amateurs." Unzicker was a devoted practitioner of the Nimzo-Indian Defence.
