GM Svetozar Gligorić
Svetozar Gligorić was a Serbian Grandmaster widely regarded as the greatest player to emerge from Yugoslavia. He won the Yugoslav championship a record eleven times and earned the Golden Badge for Yugoslavia's best athlete in 1958. A versatile competitor comfortable in Indian systems and the Trompowsky, his influence extended across decades of top-level chess.
